In 2007, I worked on the initial Hochparterre “Birsstadt” Issue at the launch of the project exploring the potential and the difficulties involved in such a densely populated area.. Recently, a follow-up story on Birsstadt was published in Hochparterre, chronicling its journey to being awarded the Wakkerpreis 2024. This prestigious accolade recognizes the collaborative efforts of two cantons and ten municipal communities to rejuvenate, naturalize the river and its surrounding area. Only space for one image, but including some extras that didn’t make the cut.
